10 KW 240 VAC capacity Hybrid Solar/Wind
Green Power in Missouri. The Green Energy system now installed supplies 20+KWh
in sunlight, but we only use 14 KWh per day. So far the turbine generates way below expectations.
SYSTEM DIAGRAM Here is a wiring diagram of our complete electric generation system. We operate off grid renewable energy unless the batteries drop below 48% charge, then we manually switch to grid power until the RE system has a sunny or windy day to catch up and power demand. Therefore the RE system never synchronizes with grid power. Our system is grid interactive capable however liability exposure prohibits synchronizing and net metering. This web site is meant to generate ideas, not instruct how to meet every demand of zoning, local codes, and neighbors. It is vitally important that trained engineers and electrical contractors assist or perform your installations to meet local codes and safety regulations. Turns out the stator windings were defective. 5/19, Turbine back up and on line!! 6/7, Turbine inoperative again! They sent it back producing the wrong voltage. 6/25/08, Turbine fixed and on the way back. 7/2, Turbine 100% operational! 10/4/08 The turbine and the solar panels are equal in wattage rating and the turbine produced 1/17th the solar generation to date. 10/16/08 The turbine charge controller ceased functioning!!! Turbine inoperative again. 10/28, back to charging again, for $165.00 in parts. 11/15/08 Turbine generation fantastic with winter weather arriving.!!!! 21.49 KWh!! Even heating water with the electric water heater with heavy clouds above, using cold winter wind. PV panels on Studio Roof The last component to bring our GREEN POWER GENERATION up to 9+KW! Solar Hot Water We installed two 3'X8' collectors with a 100 gallon storage tank and pump control. One collector per house inhabitant and 50 gallon per collector seems to work well. There company is a model for others to emulate. The electric provider would not cooperate to allow us grid tie without $1,000,000.00 + costs in liability exposure. Still waiting and hoping.

The sun
always rises and develops generation even under very cloudy conditions. If the
wind 'don't' blow hard we get nothing from our turbine at all.
The PV outperforms the wind turbine
17.6 to 1 in summer, 3/14/08 - 11/1/ 08. Each is rated for 3.2 KW. UPDATE 11/15/08 The turbine
finally generating very well with winter weather arriving, 21.49 KWh today.
