We purchased our complete system on June 21, 2007 and we hope to install and connect to the grid on December 11, 2007. Every step will be photographed and documented on this web site as we install the system. The architecture is based on SMA America equipment, featuring a pair of 5048U inverters. We will start out with a Whisper 500 wind turbine on a 21 meter tower, two Wattsun 125 active trackers with a total of 24 130w KC panels, and 16 Conergy 175 panels with a SMA 3000 240 VAC inverter on our studio roof. We are hoping to grid tie and have a battery bank. Feasability The question should not be is it feasible to replace the grid with green power? (Which it is), but rather, Do you want to add the value you pay for your system to the value of your property? In this light your system will be cost effective the moment it is turned on. You will get a return of 100% immediately. The electricity generation is 100% profit return. Every dollar spent on hybrid green energy production has a return many times greater than buying an automobile, in just ten years. If you include the extra cost of fuel to operate the automobile, and the extra profit by reducing, eliminating or maybe gaining income from the electric bill, the cost of Solar/Wind/Water power generation is far less than the cost of buying a vehicle. And we have all bought cars and trucks. Now is the time to buy PERSONAL GREEN POWER PLANTS! And move away from fossil fuels. Put in an expandable power plant. Be prepared to spend enough money to put in 600+ Ah battery bank at a minimum. 1200 Ah is really best for a full average home off grid. A Stabler washer needs 600 Ah battery bank at 48 V to work correctly with the DC motor controller, less and it affects the house grounding. It doesn't use much electricity, it just needs the power to ground when the motor changes direction and speeds. With smaller banks any computer back up batteries beep and click constantly when the washer is on. |
